RF Needling

JUMP TO

RF needling for skin laxity, texture, acne scarring, rosacea, and pigmentation, now available at Annerley.

RF Needling combines the collagen-stimulating effect of skin needling with targeted radiofrequency heat, working on the skin's surface and at a deeper structural level simultaneously. It's suited to a broader range of concerns than standard skin needling alone, particularly laxity, deeper scarring, and vascular or pigmentary conditions that don't respond well to surface-level treatment.

If you're not sure whether RF Needling is right for you, a Skin Consultation or Medical Aesthetics Consultation is the best place to start.

* RF Needling treatments are only available at the Annerley clinic

Benefits of RF Needling with Sylfirm X

Not all RF needling devices are the same. At Derm Haus Brisbane use the Sylfirm X, chosen for its dual-mode capability and its clinical approval to treat a broader range of concerns than standard RF devices:

  • Most RF needling devices address structural concerns only. Sylfirm X operates in two modes -  pulsed wave and continuous wave, making it the only device of its kind clinically approved to treat vascular and pigmentary conditions like rosacea, melasma, and PIH alongside laxity and textural concerns.

  • By delivering radiofrequency heat at a precise depth in the dermis, RF Needling targets collagen and elastin at a structural level, making it effective for laxity, deeper scarring, and areas like the neck and décolletage that surface treatments can't reach as effectively.

  • We can precisely calibrate for each treatment zone. With an adjustable needle depth of 0.3mm to 4mm and two distinct radiofrequency modes, we can target everything from superficial pigmentation and redness to deeper laxity and scarring, across different areas of the face, neck, and body.

RF NEEDLING FAQS

IPL treatment skin brisbane

  • RF Needling suits patients with skin laxity, textural concerns, acne scarring, enlarged pores, rosacea, diffuse redness, melasma, or PIH. It's generally better suited to patients with some prior treatment experience. A consultation will confirm suitability.

  • A course of 3–4 sessions is recommended for most concerns, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Maintenance is typically every 3–6 months depending on indication.

  • Standard skin needling triggers collagen production through micro-injury at the skin's surface. RF Needling adds radiofrequency heat delivered at a precise depth in the dermis - making it effective for deeper structural concerns like laxity and scarring that surface needling can't reach as effectively.

  • Yes. A Skin Consultation or Medical Aesthetics Consultation is required prior to your first session so we can assess suitability, discuss your treatment plan, and cover pre-care requirements.

  • Yes, please see our pre-procedure guidelines for more information.

  • Redness and swelling for 2–3 days is typical. Most patients return to normal activities within a few days following the post-care protocol provided by their clinician.

Every RF Needling treatment concludes with an application of a medical-grade Hyaluronic Acid 3.5% serum to support hydration and skin recovery immediately post-treatment.

We also recommend purchasing our Sheald Recovery Balm. A key part of looking after your skin in the days following treatment. Keeping the skin barrier supported during the recovery window helps reduce downtime and protect your results.
