LED Light Therapy

Light Emitting Diode (LED) light therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted light energy to trigger your body’s natural cell processes to rejuvenate and repair the skin. This pain-free and non-invasive treatment targets the light receptors in your skin cells which then convert the light into energy.

Targeting both the surface of the skin (the epidermis) and the thick layer of living tissue below it (the dermis), your body uses the LED light as a source of energy to fuel the repair of damaged cells and kill bacteria.

LED light therapy perfectly compliments many of the treatments that we offer and can help to maximise results, reduce redness, swelling or bruising, minimise infection, relieve discomfort, and reduce downtime.

LED light therapy can be combined with Derm Haus Brisbane procedures including:

No. There is no downtime associated with LED light therapy. You’ll be free to resume your normal routine immediately after treatment.

You’ll start to notice results after one LED light therapy session. The best results will be seen after a course of LED sessions.

The number of LED light treatments required will depend on your skin goals and this will be discussed during a Skin Consultation.

Typically, clients are treated weekly for 6 to 12 weeks.

LED light therapy is not suitable for women who are pregnant. This is due to the treatment not being tested on pregnant women and therefore the risk is unknown.

LED light therapy is not suitable if you have light induced migraines or epilepsy.

Depending on your unique skin, your session will be performed using red, blue, infrared or a combination of LED light wavelengths.

A lot! It’s all to do with the power of the device. Most at-home LED devices do not emit enough energy output or have precise enough wavelengths to make any improvements to your skin.

Our in-clinic LED device (we use the Dermalux Triwave and Healite II) is a medical-grade, clinically proven machine with significantly more power than at-home devices. Many at-home devices have not undergone clinical trials to prove their efficacy.
