DMK Enzyme Therapy
Jump to:
A paramedical skin treatment that works at a cellular level — for acne, scarring, pigmentation, fine lines, and long-term skin health.
Most skin treatments work on the surface. DMK Enzyme Therapy works differently.
DMK is a paramedical therapy that addresses the structure and function of the skin from the inside out — targeting the cellular dysfunctions that cause skin conditions in the first place, rather than just managing the symptoms. The result is healthier, better-functioning skin that holds its results over time.
At Derm Haus Brisbane, our Dermal Therapists are specialist DMK clinicians. Every treatment is tailored to your skin and delivered as part of a personalised treatment plan — in-clinic sessions combined with DMK home prescriptives, designed to work together for lasting change.

DMK Enzyme Therapy FAQs
-
DMK is a paramedical therapy that works on the structure and function of the skin. While many other cosmetic treatments and facials work on the surface of the skin, paramedical treatments address skin on an internal cellular level to improve its functionality.
Essentially, with DMK we focus on correcting the dysfunctions leading to the skin complaint and create a treatment plan designed to re-educate the skin and match the body’s chemistry. The DMK approach is to Remove, Rebuild, Protect, and Maintain:
Remove dead skin cell build-up, which leads to the appearance of dry skin, fine lines and skin discolouration.
Rebuild by restoring the skin’s vital internal processes to optimal function, enabling the cells to stay alive longer and perform optimally.
Protect the skin from the sun, free radicals, glycation and other environmental factors that lead to premature ageing.
Maintain skin function with at-home skincare to prolong the results achieved by DMK professional treatments.

DMK products are extremely complex and precise. They are designed to work with the internal function and structure of the skin. DMK products are made from a highly refined combination of botanical and pharmaceutical-grade ingredients.
Many cosmetic products have a low ratio of active ingredients and therefore lack the active ingredients required to instigate real and lasting change within the skin. With DMK’s pharmaceutical-grade formulations, you’re getting a more concentrated ratio of active ingredients.

Each person's DMK treatment will look a little different, depending on your specific skin and concern (your DMK Skin Specialist will discuss your options during your consultation). Most treatments will involve DMK Enzyme Therapy. Here’s what happens during DMK Enzyme Therapy:
We begin with a preparing and priming regime which includes paramedical cleansing and exfoliating products and may also include the use of AHAs and rapid peels. This is tailored to your skin's needs and treatment plan.
Then it’s enzyme time! We apply the enzyme mask to your face, neck and décolletage. Once the mask is applied it begins hardening and tightening - this is the mask working its magic!
You’ll feel your skin tingling and pulsating as the mask dries. This sensation is the increase of oxygen and nutrient-rich blood delivered to the skin - a process called reverse osmosis flushes toxins from out of the cells and surrounding area into the lymphatic system where they are then removed from the body. Most people find the mask tightness and pulsating mildly uncomfortable.
After 45-minutes, we remove the mask. You may notice a ‘plasmatic effect’, this is a positive result showing the capillaries on the surface of the skin have dilated as a result of the treatment, and your oxygenated blood is rushing through them.
To finish off we apply tailored finishing vitamins in the form of serums, oils, mists and creams. Your skin will be glowing and have a silky texture and plump appearance.

This will vary depending upon the severity and duration of your skin condition, and if there are any underlying contributing factors.
Your Dermal Therapist will give you an honest and comprehensive treatment program at your initial consultation. Your treatment plan is designed specifically to suit you, your skin concerns, your budget, and your time constraints.
Usually, we recommend enzyme therapy fortnightly over 12 weeks initially, and then an ongoing maintenance regime which will vary for each person.
Think of DMK treatments like going to the gym for your skin - one treatment (or workout) is not going to achieve immediate results. You will require a skincare plan made up of in-clinic treatments and at-home prescriptives to give you long-lasting results.
-
Absolutely! Combining DMK with other skin treatments can be a real treatment-enhancer. Our clients often combine DMK with other treatments, such as Skin Needling and LED Light Therapy.
If you’d like to discuss combining DMK with other treatment options, book a Skin Consultation with our Dermal Therapists.

Pricing starts from $250. See below for the DMK pricelist.

During a Skin Consultation, your Dermal Therapist will provide you with a DMK Home Prescriptive treatment plan specific to your skin concerns, your budget and your time constraints.
The DMK Home Prescriptives are designed to improve and extend the progress made through ‘in-clinic’ DMK treatments. The combination of the in-clinic treatments and home prescriptives is what is going to bring about long term results.

DMK treatments are generally suitable for all skin types and conditions.
Certain DMK treatments may not be suitable if you are:

We recommend booking a Skin Consultation with our Dermal Therapist to discuss which treatments are right for you.

The best thing to do is to first book a Skin Consultation. During your Consultation, our Dermal Therapist will gain a thorough understanding of your skin concerns and goals. Then we’ll provide you with advice and a personalised skincare plan designed to treat your skin concerns - it’s essentially a bespoke skincare prescription.
Skin Consultations require a $100 deposit, which is redeemable on products.
