Under-Eye Rejuvenation
The skin beneath the eyes is the thinnest on the face and one of the first areas to show signs of change. Whether you're noticing dark circles, hollowness, puffiness, or fine lines, understanding what's driving your concern is the first step toward addressing it properly.
What causes under eye concerns?
The under-eye area is one of the first places ageing shows up, and one of the most common things our patients want to address. Thinner skin, less structural support, and constant movement all make this area more reactive than the rest of the face. Whether you're noticing tear trough hollowing, dark circles, puffiness, fine lines or creepy skin under the eyes, there are several underlying causes and understanding them helps us recommend the right treatment for you.
Common contributors we can help with:
-
As facial fat redistributes and bone density reduces with age, the under-eye area can appear hollow or sunken, creating a shadow that reads as a dark circle, even when pigmentation isn't the cause.
-
Genetic predisposition, sun exposure, and skin tone all influence pigmentation under the eye. This is a distinct concern from shadowing and responds to different treatment approaches.
-
Due to the skin under the eye being so thin, blood vessels close to the surface can show through, contributing to a bluish or purple discolouration.
-
The loss of collagen and elastin over time leads to crepiness and the development of fine lines, particularly around the outer eye area.
-
Poor lymphatic drainage, sleep quality, allergies, diet, and genetics all influence puffiness and under-eye bags. Some causes are temporary; others are structural and persistent.
Why you won’t see all treatments listed
You may notice that we don’t list every medical aesthetic treatment we offer on our website. This is because Australian advertising regulations for health services (set by the Therapeutic Goods Administration and AHPRA) restrict the promotion of certain treatments.
