Skin Booster Aftercare
To support your recovery and help avoid any adverse reactions, it is important to follow your aftercare instructions carefully.
Your treatment today used a skin booster a prescription injectable product that works to hydrate, firm, and improve the quality of the skin from within. The product used in your treatment was one of the following: Rejuran, Skinvive, Profhilo, Vital, or Viscoderm. If you have any questions about the specific product used, please speak with your treating clinician.
What to expect after your treatment
The product is injected in small deposits beneath the skin. You may be able to see these initially — this is completely normal and they typically settle within a few hours. You may also be able to feel the product under the skin in the treated area. This will settle on its own.
Do not massage or rub the treated area. The product is designed to integrate naturally into the skin — no assistance is needed.
Some patients experience minor reactions in the hours following treatment, including:
Mild redness, swelling, or warmth to the treated area
Itching or tenderness at the injection sites
Bruising
These reactions are generally mild and typically resolve within one to two days. Downtime is minimal and most patients are comfortable returning to their normal day-to-day activities straight away.
For the 12 hours following your appointment:
Avoid makeup
For the 48 hours following your appointment:
Avoid alcohol
Avoid aspirin and ibuprofen
Avoid vigorous exercise
For the 2 weeks following your appointment:
Avoid further clinical skin treatments including microdermabrasion, laser, IPL, chemical peels, skin needling, muscle relaxant injections, and dermal fillers
Avoid sunbathing and extremes of heat or cold, including saunas, steam baths, icy baths, and solariums
Avoid dental procedures
For the 4 weeks following your appointment:
Avoid fractional resurfacing treatments
Adverse reactions
Please contact us promptly if you experience any of the following:
Prolonged or worsening redness, swelling, or heat at the injection sites beyond 48 hours
Signs of infection such as increased warmth, discharge, or fever
Firm lumps or nodules that do not settle within a few days
Any other symptoms that concern you

Follow-up appointment
At Derm Haus, we offer a complimentary 2-week follow-up appointment to assess the results of your treatment. You can book this via our website or by phone or email.
Dose adjustments, if needed, are generally included in the pricing of your initial treatment. However, follow-ups scheduled beyond the recommended 2-week window are not always clinically appropriate for a dose adjustment. Any additional treatment outside this period is at your clinician's clinical assessment and discretion and may incur an additional fee.
