Exosome skin therapy aftercare

Exosome skin therapy aftercare

To support your skin’s healing and optimise your results following Exosome Skin Therapy, please follow these aftercare instructions carefully.

This treatment involves microneedling followed by the application of exosomes - a potent blend of stem cell-derived growth factors and peptides. As with all microneedling procedures, the skin is in a temporarily vulnerable state, so it’s important to treat it gently in the days following your appointment.

What to expect after your treatment

Following your treatment, the microscopic puncture wounds created by the needling device remain open for several hours. During this time, your skin is more susceptible to irritation, inflammation and infection—so extra care must be taken.

You may notice:

  • Redness, warmth, or a tight ‘sunburned’ feeling for the first 24–72 hours

  • Mild swelling or tenderness in the treated area

  • Dry or tight skin developing within the first few days, followed by light flaking or shedding over the next 5–7 days.

These are all normal responses and part of the skin’s natural healing process.

Do not pick, scratch or exfoliate your skin during this time, as doing so can interfere with healing and potentially lead to scarring or infection.

If you experience discomfort in the first few hours, you may gently apply a clean, cool compress to soothe the skin.

First 12-24 hours:

Leave the exosome product on your skin:

  • Do not wash your face for at least 12 hours after your treatment

  • This allows the exosomes and growth factors to fully absorb into the skin and maximise their regenerative effects.

Use the remaining exosome vial:

  • You’ll be sent home with the remaining exosome vial used during your treatment

  • Apply a small amount to the treated area morning and night until the vial is finished

  • Store it in the refrigerator and take care to avoid contamination and apply with clean hands or a sterile applicator.

Apply the soothing sheet mask provided:

  • Use the provided sheet mask within the first 24 hours post-treatment

  • It’s designed to soothe, reduce inflammation, and boost hydration

  • Leave on for 15–20 minutes, then gently pat in any remaining serum.

Days 2–7: Continued recovery:

Continue applying the remaining exosome product:

  • Use morning and night until the vial is completely finished

  • Consistent application supports ongoing skin regeneration and repair.

Moisturise gently:

  • From 24 hours post-treatment, you may introduce a gentle, non-active moisturiser if needed

  • Avoid strong or active ingredients (such as retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and vitamin C) for at least 5–7 days.

Sun protection:

  • After 24 hours, begin wearing a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, even on cloudy days or indoors

  • Continue to avoid direct sun exposure for at least 7 days following your treatment.

General tips for best results

  • Do not exfoliate or use scrubs for at least 7 days

  • Avoid other skin treatments (e.g. laser, peels) for 2 weeks post-treatment

  • Stay hydrated and eat a nutrient-rich diet to support skin healing

  • Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol, which can compromise your results.
