Anti-wrinkle injections aftercare

To enjoy the best results and to avoid any adverse reactions, it is important to follow your aftercare instructions.

Immediately after your treatment, you may experience mild tenderness, bruising, and swelling around the injection sites. This is common after anti-wrinkle injections and should resolve over the next 24 hours. If bruising occurs, this may take 1-2 weeks to completely resolve.

You may experience a mild headache following your treatment. This is more common after your first-ever anti-wrinkle treatment. If you require pain relief, take paracetamol, as directed on the label.

You may begin to notice the effect of your treatment within 3 to 5 days, expect up to 14 days to see the full effect of the treatment.

Anti-wrinkle results & longevity

After the treatment, it takes about 2 weeks for the botulinum toxin to reach peak effectiveness. The height of effectiveness is usually between 2 to 6 weeks. Over the following 10 weeks, the effectiveness gradually decreases and you will notice some movement returning to the treated area.

The longevity of results depends on several factors, including anatomy, metabolism, treatment history, the desired outcome, and the dose of the treatment used.

The above graph is for illustrative purposes only. Results and longevity of anti-wrinkle injections vary.
