Jaw slimming / masseter reduction injections (8 week follow up): $220

*The above pricing is female treatment prices. For male treatments, your Nurse will provide you with a custom quote. Our jaw slimming pricing includes a generous ‘max dose’. If you require above the max dose, there will be an additional cost to cover the additional product used. In the rare event that max dose has been reached, your Nurse will let you know and provide you with a quote prior to treatment.

Jaw slimming FAQs

 
 
 

  • Jaw slimming is an injectable treatment where a neurotoxin (the same drug used in anti-wrinkle treatments) is injected into the masseter muscles, which is responsible for the jaw’s width and chewing function.

    By relaxing these muscles, the jawline becomes less pronounced overtime, resulting in less tension, and a softer, more contoured appearance. This treatment can also provide significant relief for teeth grinding, jaw clenching and associated headaches.

  • Your initial jaw slimming treatment is $380 (see above for the full price list). Due to the nature of this anatomy, the muscle is re-treated 8 weeks later ($220).

    At Derm Haus Brisbane, our pricing is based on per-area treated, rather than units. This allows our Nurses to focus on a results driven approach.

  • If you are solely interested in jaw slimming or masseter reduction injections, our ‘Jaw Slimming’ appointments allow enough time for a jaw slimming consultation and treatment and therefore a Cosmetic Injectables Consultation is not necessary.

    If you would like to have an in-depth assessment, discuss a variety of treatment options with our Registered Nurses, and have some time to consider your treatment, we recommend booking a Cosmetic Injectables Consultation. There will be enough time during this appointment for your consultation and the jaw slimming treatment.

  • Your jaw slimming treatment will be personalised according to your individual needs. Typically, a jaw slimming treatment at Derm Haus Brisbane starts with a Registered Nurse taking clinical photography for later comparison of your treatment results.

    Once the treatment area is cleaned and prepped, a series of small injections are administered directly into the targeted area. The total treatment time is less than 5 minutes.

    After the treatment, your Nurse will run you through aftercare instructions to ensure you get the best results from your treatment.

  • You may begin to notice the effects of your jaw slimming treatment within 6 weeks. Expect up to 8 weeks to see the full effect of the treatment. In some cases, an additional treatment may be required at an 8 week follow up appointment.

    Results and longevity will vary between patients.

  • In most cases, there is minimal to no downtime for jaw slimming treatments and you can immediately return to your usual activities following the procedure.

    Some patients may experience minor side effects such as swelling, redness, bruising, and tenderness in the jaw muscle. This will disappear within a couple of days and can be covered with makeup.

  • Jaw slimming treatments are not suitable for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or those with a muscular or neurological disease (including Bell’s Palsy).

    During your consultation, your Nurse and Doctor will discuss any medications that you are taking, as well as any medical conditions that you may have and will discuss your suitability for the treatment.

  • To enjoy the best results and to avoid any adverse reactions, it is important to follow your jaw slimming aftercare instructions. Your Nurse will discuss aftercare with you during your appointment and provide you with a pamphlet to take home.
