Anti-wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections work beneath the skin’s surface – targeting the muscles that create fine lines and wrinkles on your face.

Anti-wrinkle injections use a natural purified protein which is carefully injected under your skin. They work by temporarily paralysing the muscle, preventing muscle movement and creating dynamic lines and wrinkles - say hello to smooth, youthful skin!

Long-term use of anti-wrinkle injections has been proven to prevent static lines from forming or deepening, delaying the effects of ageing.

You will begin to notice the effects of your anti-wrinkle treatment within 3 to 5 days. Expect up to 10 days to see the full effect of the treatment.

At Derm Haus Brisbane, we offer a complimentary 2 week follow-up appointment to assess the results of your anti-wrinkle treatment.

At Derm Haus Brisbane, our anti-wrinkle injection pricing is based on per-area treated, rather than units. This allows our Nurses to focus on achieving the results that you are after.

First, your Registered Nurse will take the time to understand what you want to achieve, complete your consent form and answer any questions. They will then conduct a facial assessment and provide you with your treatment options and pricing.

Next, one of our Doctors will provide a prescription for your anti-wrinkle treatment, provided no contraindications are identified.

Then the procedure begins! Your Nurse will clean the injection site with an antibacterial agent and inject the product into the treatment area/s. The injections may cause a slight stinging sensation at first, however, this is normally tolerated well by most patients. The treatment is generally over within 10 minutes.

After the procedure, there is minimal downtime and you are free to leave the clinic when you are ready. Your Nurse will give you a pamphlet with your aftercare instructions. You may experience slight redness around the injection site, as well as some swelling or bruising, but this will usually fade away within 24 hours.

If you are solely interested in anti-wrinkle injections, our ‘Anti-Wrinkle Treatment’ appointments allow enough time for an anti-wrinkle consultation and treatment, and therefore a Cosmetic Injectables Consultation is not necessary.

If you would like to have an in-depth assessment, discuss a variety of treatment options with our Registered Nurses, and have some time to consider your treatment, we recommend booking a Cosmetic Injectables Consultation. We can then book your treatment for a later date if you decide to proceed.

Due to legislation and regulations governing the advertising of therapeutic goods, we cannot promote the brand names of the products used in our cosmetic injectable treatments.

We use only the highest quality products and will discuss the solution that is best for you during your consultation.

There is no preparation required prior to your anti-wrinkle treatment. However, we do recommend avoiding:

• Sunburn

• Waxing, bleaching or using hair removal in the treatment area for 24 hours prior to your treatment.

If you have an active cold sore or skin infection in the treatment area, you’ll need to reschedule your appointment.

To enjoy the best results and to avoid any adverse reactions, it is important to follow your anti-wrinkle injection aftercare instructions. Your Nurse will discuss aftercare with you during your appointment and provide you with a pamphlet to take home.

At Derm Haus Brisbane, we offer a complimentary 2 week follow-up appointment to assess the results of your anti wrinkle treatment.

Any top-ups required at your follow-up appointment are included in your initial treatment price unless a ‘max dose’ has been reached. Our anti-wrinkle treatment pricing includes a generous ‘max dose’. If you require above this amount, there will be an additional cost to cover the additional product used. Your Nurse will always let you know and provide you with a quote if max dose has been reached.

Anti-wrinkle injections are not suitable for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or those with a muscular or neurological disease (including Bell’s Palsy).

During your consultation, your Nurse and Doctor will discuss any medications that you are taking, as well as any medical conditions that you may have and will discuss your suitability for the treatment.

In the past, it was common practice to use anti-wrinkle injections to correct marionettes, smile lines, and lip lines. This remains available for some clients after consultation, however, nowadays we often recommend more effective treatment options that can give a more natural result, such as PDO threads and dermal filler.
